Charles wrote to Mashable to explain how the gorgeous picture came to be.
"I woke up really early a week ago to get glam for my picture. I recently got into makeup and wanted to have a pretty iconic picture since I knew it would live forever with myself and all my friends at school," Charles told Mashable.
Despite meticulously doing his makeup, the studio's lighting did not do Charles' look justice.
"I got there and posed for the photos. They came out okay but the lighting in the room was bad and my highlight was NOT on fleek."

So, Charles emailed the studio to schedule a re-shoot.
"They totally understood and they let me come in and bring my lights with me that I have for my makeup photography," he wrote to Mashable. "My ring light is what I use for my photos normally so I knew having it would make the highlight look better."
Charles can't believe how quickly his tweet went viral – even Zendaya retweeted it.

"It's been absolutely ridiculous and crazy since I posted the picture. I thought they would do pretty well since my followers were so kind when I posted photos from the morning of the original shoot, but this all was extremely unexpected," he said.
Charles said while his Bethlehem, New York high school is great and filled with supportive people, he looks forward to making a splash in a bigger city.
"I love it but I plan on getting the hell out as fast as possible when I'm done and I want to go to school in NYC. I'm looking at FIT. I love how fast-paced and forward the city life is and it's definitely for me. Once I finish school I want to move to LA," he told Mashable.
