With some creativity and basic science knowledge, Japanese Twitter user @unatra has posted pictures of rice balls he made at home that glow bright green under black light, or UV light.

The keys to fluorescence are the vitamin B2 pills and tonic water. Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, is fluorescent under UV light, as is the quinine in tonic water.
Quinine also has a distinctly bitter taste, which Unatra says is unfortunately noticeable in the rice later.
