The Watch Don’t Believe The Hole OnlineNRA has turned being tone-deaf into an art form, and now they've gone and incurred the wrath of Amy Poehler and some fellow Parks & Recalums.
On Wednesday night, the NRA sent a tweet that featured a gif of Poehler's Leslie Knope character. The tweet thanked their controversial spokeswoman Dana Loesch, who appeared on a CNN town hall event Wednesday night alongside students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the site of last week's deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida that claimed the lives of 17 people.

Loesch faced tough questioning from shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel.

Given the heated context of the NRA's "thanks!" to Loesch -- not to mention Loesch's many controversial comments in the past -- the tweet kicked up a hornets nest among Parks & Recalum, including Poehler herself.
While Poehler doesn't have a Twitter account, she communicated a message that was loud and clear via Michael Schur, the show's creator.

Adam Scott, who played Poehler's on-screen husband Ben Wyatt, tweeted out his own criticism of the NRA's use of Poehler's character.

Another co-star, Nick Offerman, who portrayed the gruff, beloved Ron Swanson, had some choice words for Loesch and the NRA as well.

Other co-stars, like Chris Pratt and Aubrey Plaza, haven't weighed in as of yet. Mashable has reached out to the NRA for comment on the reaction.
Despite the blowback, the tweet remains up on the NRA account which isn't all that surprising because, as Loesch proved on Wednesday night, listening isn't the organization's biggest strength.
