How do emmanuelle: a game of eroticismyou sustain a franchise for five installments? By introducing the protagonist's family!
(This is the fool-proof formula behind such hits as The Lion King II, The Little Mermaid II, and more relevantly, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).
For its upcoming sequel, the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts may have found Newt Scamander's (Eddie Redmayne) brother Theseus in British actor Callum Turner, Mashablehas confirmed.
Like many previous Harry Potter actors, Turner isn't a household name; he's been in several British television series and the feature film Green Room, as well as in Victor Frankenstein, which starred Mr. Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. A person familiar with the process says Turner is indeed in talks for the role, news first reported Friday by Variety.
Newt's brother Theseus is mentioned in the Fantastic Beasts screenplay, but if it's in the movie we probably missed it due to Redmayne's legendary mumbling. Older than Newt, Theseus was a hero during the First World War and subsequently tasked with tracking down Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), the greatest Dark wizard before Voldemort.
There's certainly a family resemblance. Will Turner join the Potterverse? We'll findout soon.
