Three new arena maps are Watch What Every Frenchwoman Wants Onlinecoming to Overwatchnext week as part of the OverwatchAnniversary event, and they look awesome.
The official European OverwatchTwitter shared a 30-second video this morning teasing six different scenes from three different arena maps, which will be added to the game when the anniversary event kicks off May 23. These maps will only be playable in the arcade in either 1v1, 3v3, or custom game modes.

The new maps shown in the video look like they'll take place in three distinct locations that Overwatchplayers are already semi-familiar with.

The final two scenes show a night-time archaeological dig around Anubis, Egypt, home to heroes Ana and Pharah.
Via GiphyAt an Overwatchanniversary event in New York City Wednesday, Overwatchgame director Jeff Kaplan said that Overwatch's maps are used as a tool for storytelling in the Overwatchuniverse, hinting that more story-related information would be contained inside future maps.
"The maps we have planned for release later this year are heavily story-driven," Kaplan said.
He didn't specify whether these new arena maps will be heavily story-driven, but they do take place in areas where a lot of Overwatch's background is explored.
Currently, there is only one non-standard map available in the arcade for 1v1 and 3v3 matches, Ecopoint: Antarctica, which was first introduced in December.
