Natalie Woods, who is gay, was sitting at a Texas restaurant called "Snuffer's" (please come to New York, Snuffer's), when she overheard a family at a nearby table bashing their gay nephew. Instead of calling them out directly (a perfectly reasonable, completely understandable response when hearing homophobia), Woods decided to respond by picking up their check and leaving them a nice note.

Woods told The Huffington Post that the family was so "disgusted" that their "liberal" nephew had come out as "gay." But in lieu of throwing a pile of cheese fries in their faces -- and do irreparable damage to the cheese fries -- Woods picked up the $49 bill and sent them the following message:
"Happy holidays from the very gay, very liberal table sitting next to you. Jesus made me this way," Woods wrote. "P.S. Be accepting of your family."
Woods said that she was inspired by "the Jesus I grew up learning about" as well as Michelle Obama's now-famous mantra, "When they go low, we go high."
Truly, Woods has gone so high no one can take her down. She currently works for a gay rights group and previously worked with the Human Rights Campaign.
It takes courage and strength to reach out to your enemy with compassion, especially when your enemy just spent $6 on a side order of fried mushrooms (gross).
