Bernie bro no Moore.
Provocateur docu-man Michael Moore's Michael Moore in TrumpLandis not just an air-raid siren for an American electorate that65 Days of Solo Pleasure 3: Secret Office Sex in his words, has "made some mistakes, whether it’s voting for Reagan or Nixon or Bush or the professional wrestler in Minnesota."
It's also an about-face for the lefty filmmaker who for years has vowed to never vote for Hillary Clinton.
Well, Hillary can count one more ballot in the box up in Michigan. Moore may still be gritting his teeth over the Iraq War, but he's with her.
Moore tweeted his Oct. 18 surprise film Tuesday night, about six hours before the first-come, first-served screening and just over seven hours after finishing his final edit.
Hey NYC- Who wants a peek @ what I've been up 2? Tues, 9:30pm, IFC Center. TIx free, 1st come, b.o. opens 8:30pm. pic.twitter.com/SrAhaq74ME

The 73-minute film -- most of it Moore speaking to the candidates from a stage, interspersed with humorous peeks into their respective presidencies -- locked Tuesday morning and played later that night at New York City's IFC Center. The cinema donated its facility for the premiere, co-hosted by MoveOn.org.
It didn't take long for The Guardianto call the scene outside "a bit of a carnival atmosphere. People with megaphones, lighted signs and placards quoting Bob Avakian mixed with folks taking selfies in front of a Zoltan-esque Trump" [who's been making the rounds in Manhattan].

Moore told the audience he "knew the Hillary Clinton campaign would never endorse" Michael Moore in TrumpLand. But she's got to be happy that his newly pro-Hillary message was loud and clear.
As The Daily Beastput it: "Though titled Michael Moore in TrumpLand, the acclaimed documentarian’s big 'October surprise' has precious little to do with Donald. Instead, the film offers a fairly convincing case for why voters should make Hillary Clinton the first female POTUS."
"The enemy of my enemy is who I’m voting for on Nov. 8," he says in the film, which he then echoed in a long Q&A followup with the audience.

TrumpLandwas shot just two weeks ago in Wilmington, Ohio, where Trump collected four times as many votes as Clinton in the primary elections. "To us, this was TrumpLand," Moore said in his post-screening comments, according to THR. "I wanted to do this not in a safe place, but in a place where we’d need a lot of security, which we had."
Moore said Brexit made him realize that Trump was a real threat, spurring him into emergency-filmmaker mode.
"There's a long tradition of Americans electing people you don't think they're going to elect," he said, according to THR. "What the country doesn't need is to be told that Trump is a crazy, dangerous psychopath [and] sociopath, all of that. He has written and produced that movie and it appears daily."
Only a small handful of media outlets squeezed reporters into the packed house, with overnight reviews coming solely from The Hollywood Reporterand The Guardian.
THR'sFrank Scheck wrote:
Featuring a mixture of stand-up comedy, political observation, and ultimately a full-throttle tribute to Hillary Clinton, Michael Moore in TrumpLand earns points for ultra-timeliness ... But despite Moore's obvious desire to reach out to Trump voters, disaffected Bernie followers, those leaning toward third-party candidates, and people who intend to sit out the election entirely, this cinematic lecture is unlikely to change many hearts or minds ...
And Jordan Hoffman wrote in The Guardian:
It’s something of a fascinating document, but undeniably awkward in presentation. A few of his jokes land, but Moore is hardly Chris Rock or Louis CK. ... What’s a little cringeworthy, though, is the repeated use of [live performances] audience reaction shots. Every talking point is met with an assertive head nod, tissue-dabbed cheek or virtuous applause. It’s like that Monty Python clip of the old ladies clapping, but twice as hilarious, unintentional though that may be.
For Moore's part, he just seemed happy that people turned up -- and did they ever.
The line started hours ago and is now way down around the block! Wow. Thank u everyone. #TrumpLand #OctoberSurprise pic.twitter.com/2NrQrJEz8R
