Anything goes on 0 worth of eroticism on your feetWestworld. No really, anything. Killer robots, puzzles, multiple timelines, and the AI apocalypse are all fair game on the hit HBO show, but the second episode of WestworldSeason 3 truly went there with a trio of unexpected cameos that get even weirder when you learn the story behind them.
In Episode 2, Westworldonce again took audiences behind the curtain of the crashing and chaotic park and showed two technicians planning to kidnap a dragon from Medieval World and escape with it to Costa Rica. The two technicians were Game of Thronesshowrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The dragon was Daenerys Targaryen's own Drogon.
In an interview with Variety, Westworldshowrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan spoke about how Benioff and Weiss are close personal friends who were down to make fun of themselves in the cameo. They also revealed that doing a Game of Thronesmini-crossover with Westworld was something A Game of Thronesauthor George R.R. Martin pitched to them way back in Season 1. Nolan said:
"We’re also friendly with George R.R. Martin, and George had consistently since the first season said, “We’ve got to do a tie-in with ‘Game of Thrones.'” People forget that George was originally a TV writer and he came up in the TV world in which you’d occasionally have these crossover shows, which the fans would f—ing freak out over. So George had always been pitching the crossover show."
Lisa Joy added that Martin had even talked about a crossover on a larger scale, where the Westworld park had an entire Game of Thronesworld to stage the ultimate crossover, but Nolan admitted it was "impossible."

Now that the door is open to Westworld crossing over with other HBO hit shows, it's time to pitch the next great Westworld park. Who wants to drink wine and do murder with the Monterey moms from Big Little Lies? No? OK, how about a Euphoriaworld? Oh, got it: Barryworld. Heck yeah, Barryworld.
