Got a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 (we're jealous998 Archives by the way; these things aren't easy to get), and you're trying to download the Mario Kart World game only to be bathed in disappointment after getting an error message? We feel you.
Users on Reddit are reporting that they're unable to download Mario Kart World. Instead, they're getting the "Error Code: 2813-0171" along with a message that the product "hasn't been released yet."
So what's up with that? Well, we don't know for sure. As some users have pointed out, it could just be the time zone difference, as Mario Kart World launched today, on June 5, but perhaps not until a certain time on the U.S. Pacific Coast. This would be weird but not unheard of; as one Redditor pointed out, "it is a typical Nintendo kind of ridiculous."
Some users say that the launch time was 12:01 a.m. PST (roughly two hours ago at writing time), and that the title should be available to download now. Some say they're still seeing the same error code, though, so it's unclear whether there's an additional but at play here or not.
SEE ALSO: Where to buy Nintendo Switch 2 online: Check every listing at Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStopMario Kart World is a kart racing game that's one of the launch titles for Nintendo's new Switch 2 console. However, Nintendo is stretching the "launch title" definition here as some users have had the Switch 2 for hours now, and are still unable to play.
For now, it appears that all users can do is wait for the Mario Kart World game to be marked as released by Nintendo; hopefully someone at Nintendo will wake up soon and start working on this issue, as the complaints are piling up quickly.
