It's been nearly three years since the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (also known as Global Goals),eroticism and art in China a collection of initiatives that aim to address the greatest challenges of our time by the year 2030.
While we've made some headway on issues of poverty, gender equality, and education, it has become increasingly apparent that not one individual, corporation or organization alone will be able to solve the world's problems. It's up to all of us as global citizens to create the change our world desperately needs.
Within the last year alone, we've seen nontraditional leaders emerge across all sectors calling out injustices, sounding the alarm on climate change, and demanding action and mobilization. Now, more than ever, we understand the importance of listening to and amplifying the voices that often go unheard.
Enter, the Social Good Summit.
Since 2010, Mashable, the United Nations Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme, and the 92nd Street Y have been creating a space during UN General Assembly Week that connects today's global world leaders, with the innovators and activists of tomorrow.
The 2018 Social Good Summit will be held on Sunday, September 23 at New York City's 92nd Street Y.
Using the hashtag #2030NOW, the Social Good Summit brings together voices from across the globe to not only hear the thoughtful, forward-thinking conversations, but become active participants -- showcasing how connection can help to identify problems, create solutions, and drive change while making sure that no one is left behind.
As an integral part of the social good community, our sponsors join us in the commitment to making significant progress on the Global Goals. Using sustainable investment to drive change, UBS connects businesses, governments, and their clients to act on Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Another Summit sponsor, Pfizer, uses its position as a leader in pharmaceutical development to deliver on Goal 3: Good Health & Well-Being to close the gap in access to quality healthcare.
For members of the press, applications are now open to join the Digital Media Lounge, an area of the Summit designated for global journalists and reporters, to report on the conversations happening on site.
For updates, including additional speaker announcements and ticketing information, follow @MashableEvents on Twitter or sign up to join our monthly newsletter.
Tickets are now available for purchase to experience this year's Summit IRL!
