Jones went offline in late August after hackers escalated trolling into punishable-by-law territory. The comic -- who had already been a high-profile target for internet-fueled harassment -- had her personal website and iCloud account hacked, with the perpetrators of the crime posting a mix of personal information and nude photos.
After the hack, Jones stepped away from social media temporarily. It was in some ways a repeat of what happened in July after racist trolls targeted her following the release of Ghostbusters.
A modicum of good came from that first incident, at least: conservative voice and self-described troll Milo Yiannopoulos was banned from Twitter for his role in inciting the virtual hate mob.
Jones addressed her second return to social media in a pair of Sunday tweets.
