With the entertainment industry essentially frozen during the coronavirus pandemic,Arouse (2025) actors and singers are finding new ways to reach their audience.
Late night show hosts are running stripped down shows from their homes, Travis Scott popped up for a virtual concert in Fornite, and live home gigs are being broadcast live on YouTube. As for Broadway? Andrew Lloyd Webber's been rolling out the singalongs. But that's just the beginning.
On Sunday, to celebrate the 90th birthday of American composer Stephen Sondheim, actors and Broadway stars joined forces via video call — with the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Kelli O'Hara, and Lin-Manuel Miranda battling technical issues to perform a number of Sondheim's classic songs.
One of the most memorable moments?
Meryl Streep, Audra McDonald, and Christine Baranski singing a booze-fuelled version of "The Ladies Who Lunch," from Sondheim's Broadway musical Company.

The trio all wore bathrobes on a group Zoom call for the performance, which was nothing short of glorious.
