Krasinski did not provide a new date due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, but since A Quiet Place Part IIis fully finished it will likely be one of Paramount Pictures' first releases when virus-induced social distancing decreases. Krasinski and wife Emily Blunt have been promoting the film until as recently as days before his announcement.
“After much consideration, and in light of the ongoing and developing situation concerning coronavirus and restrictions on global travel and public gatherings, Paramount Pictures will be moving the worldwide release of A Quiet Place Part II,” the studio said in a statement. “We believe in and support the theatrical experience, and we look forward to bringing this film to audiences this year once we have a better understanding of the impact of this pandemic on the global theatrical marketplace.”
A Quiet Place Part II joins the growing list of theatrical releases postponed because of coronavirus, including No Time to Die(pushed from April to November) and Peter Rabbit 2 (pushed from April to August).
