UPDATE: Sep. 27,Fulwa (2025) Hindi Short Film 2023, 11:00 a.m. EDT The all-new Apple Watch Ultra 2 (Medium, GPS + Cellular)is now on sale for $729 exclusively in the Best Buy appthrough 6 p.m. ET (or until it sells out). That's $70 off its suggested retail price of $799, which is its biggest discount to date. Paid My Best Buymembers get an extra $10 off. Our original story follows.
Amazon gave the new Apple Watch Ultra 2 its very first price drop a day before its official launch, knocking several variants with cellular connectivity down about $20 to $779.99. That's a notable deal for a brand-spanking-new device from a popular brand — but with good timing and a quick app download, you can score an even better one today.
On Wednesday, Sept. 27 at around 11 a.m. ET, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (Medium, GPS + Cellular) with a titanium case and an Indigo Alpine Loop will go on sale for a mere $729 in the Best Buy mobile app. That's $70 off its $799 MSRP and the Ultra 2's lowest price since it debuted in mid-September. (Note that paid My Best Buy members will save an additional $10.)
The deal comes as part of the retailer's new app-exclusive Best Buy Drops program, which aims to "[give] shoppers a chance to access some of the biggest deals and coolest products" through their phones almost every week during the earlier-than-ever holiday season.
To participate, simply:
Download the Best Buy mobile app (available for iOS and Android).
Tap on the "Drops" arrow icon in the center of the lower navigation bar.
Hit the "Notify me for a drop" line next to any item you're interested in. You'll get a push notification just before its deal goes live.
Best Buy Drops will be available in limited quantities from around 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET (or until they sell out) on the day they're scheduled, so be speedy once that notification arrives.
For its part, the Ultra 2 is an update to Apple's most powerful and rugged smartwatch that brings a faster new S9 SiP (System in Package), a brighter display, on-device Siri, better location tracking, and a new feature called Double Tap to the table. Mashable Senior Editor Stan Schroeder called the latter its "coolest new feature" in his initial hands-on review: "I have no idea whether it's going to be useful long-term, but it's definitely really cool to do things on the Watch without even touching it ... You can answer or end a call, browse through the Smart Stack, or start and end a timer."
It's otherwise pretty similar to last year's first-generation Apple Watch Ultra, so owners of that model can probably pass on an upgrade. Stay tuned for our full review.
