The news giant acquired Neistat's Beme app last year, and is now working with the creator to launch a new standalone company that will use smartphones to create video content.
“Here I am, exactly two years later, starting another company,” Neistat said in his latest video. "And all of a sudden I feel like I have a purpose to do this again, and that’s crazy exciting for me. That makes me feel so good.”
The digital star has built a following of 6.8 million subscribers since joining the platform in 2010.
Neistat has kept busy in the last few months. He has been occasionally uploading vlogs and working on some branded content.
In March, he was on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter alongside CNN's Jeff Zucker, Jake Tapper, Anthony Bourdain and W. Kamau Bell in a story that outlined the media company's digital domination plans.

“The company that we’re building is like a laboratory where we try different apps, we build different software, we make different shows, we’re gonna start a YouTube channel, it’s a whole bunch of stuff,” he said. "We’re looking forward to seeing the shape it takes."
