SEE ALSO: Disastrous 'Pokémon Go' Fest ends with anger and refundsFrom Aug. 31 to Sept. 30, Raiku, Entei, and Suicune will pop up in raid battles in specific regions around the world, then swap regions on Sept. 30, and again on Oct. 31. Niantic only revealed each legendary's region for the first month:
Raikou, an electric-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Americas.
Entei, a fire-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout Europe and Africa.
Suicune, a water-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
After the third month, the three legendary Pokémon won't be available, so if you're a fan of the three Johto legendaries you need to find a raid near you.
Niantic also announced that it will start testing EX Raid Battles at limited locations, and invites will be sent out to select players. These EX Raid Battles work similarly to regular raid battles but with more exclusive Pokémon. Invites will start to go out Sept. 6.
