The MoviesCritics Choice Award nominations have been announced, and several much-talked-about movies have gotten a slew of nods. But there's also some astonishing commissions.
*Both the humanely hilarious Anora and the polarizing body-horror offering The Substancescored seven nominations. The universally praised drama The Brutalist received nine nominations, while the controversial musical Emilia Pérezand the epic Dune: Part Twoearned 10. And tied for most nominations at 11 is the box office smash that is Wicked and the sensational (and slyly funny) thriller Conclave.
Notable snubs include Babygirl, Halina Reijn's torrid thriller that won Nicole Kidman the Volpi Cup out of the Venice International Film Festival, Problemista, Julio Torres' critically heralded comedy about the red tape of immigrating to America, and Love Lies Bleeding, Rose Glass' harrowing and gnarly thriller.
